國榮自小學及中學學業成績優異，也是田徑及體操場上的精英。中學期間在運動場上奔馳，屢獲跳高及三級跳遠獎項，創下「莫記」三級跳遠記錄，後無來者。體操方面更為出色，中學期間曾獲全新界學界體操全能總冠軍。

國榮興趣甚多、才華洋溢、上至天文、下至農耕，可謂十項全能。日常會收錄口琴及結他演奏，混音製作成電子音樂與友人分享。閒時亦會研究電腦、iPad各種應用程式，善加利用，作畫圖設計、腦圖分析及增進記憶法。他也喜歡以舊曲創意填詞，瑯瑯上口，饒有趣味。他擅長木工，不但具新奇的設計意念，更親力親為建設家園，父家工人姐姐的床櫃組合，都由他一手建造。國榮對煮食及園藝亦有研究，經常把有趣的事物拍攝成影片，上載YouTube頻道與人分享。

二月初，國榮臨近生命的邊緣，深知壽數在上帝手中，他仍心存敬畏，在病患中頌讚上帝信實慈愛，耶穌寶血救贖，勉勵我們要平安、喜樂。2025年2月20日清晨，聽著與愛妻合唱的歌聲”The memory of love will bring you home”，平靜地回到天父的懷抱安息。

Herman向來念舊，總愛細數家族往事，娓娓道來，分享過祖父曾因失手打落花盆傷及路人惹上了官非，牢獄之苦一步之遙。這份往事鑄就了Herman「處事謹慎」的家訓。

祖母鄭氏臨終前的囑咐：「自己買得起新衣時，別光買一件貴的。錢要分成兩份，一份買兩件衣裳，好些的送人，普通的留給自己。」祖母的「善良」及「樂於分享」，就成為他的日常。

父親經營米糧鋪兼賣炭的日常裡，Herman常常幫著鏟炭過秤。「炭灰再眯眼，秤桿子也不能歪。」父親總念叨著，在劈啪作響的鏟炭聲中教會他「做人要誠實」。

母親陳氏的巧手染就了Herman多彩人生。糧油鋪後院裡，他既能在木料堆裡刨出小蘋果隔熱板，又能抱著吉他自彈自唱。

長大後，從編寫程式到培育芽苗，尋正道到自家調研美食，那些專注鑽研的日夜，將「謹慎」、「真誠」、「善良」與「熱忱」細細流露出來。感謝Herman愛學習、樂分享、求真道、活出美好，以生命點亮更多薪火，願天上的父悅納這份傳承。 阿門。  – 妻

四兄妹當中，哥哥和我的年齡最接近。記得年幼時，我們玩家家酒，哥哥飾演爸爸，我飾演媽媽，二人手拖手，妹妹就跟在後面，扮演我們的仔女，幾兄妹一齊玩耍，關係十分親密。

小學的時候，哥哥教我吹口琴，最先學會的兩首歌是「齊齊望過去」和「仙巴歷險記」。小五時，我竟然有勇氣在聯校教育營表演吹口琴，全因為哥哥給我的教導和鼓勵。

到了長大成人，大家各有自己的家庭，雖然平日能見面的機會不多，但每次我生孩子，你總會去醫院探望。雖然你的說話不多，但卻給我帶來支持和安慰，使我感到無限溫暖。

哥哥還教我很多事情：如何使用iPad的應用程式做筆記、畫腦圖和思考方法，指導我如何上網訂淘寶，向我示範如何有效使用咭片套，提示我使用電鋸和電鑽的安全守則……

過去幾年，你的身體在接受治療中，但一有精神，你就會來幫我處理家事。去年我在買了一張巨型餐枱，自己根本無法處理，你二話不說就來幫我安裝好，十分感謝。不會忘記你為我的布袋打孔，又特意來我家鑽牆安裝晾衫繩……

在醫院裏，我看到接二連三、不斷有朋友來探望你，才知道原來哥哥有那麼多好朋友，你的坦誠直率換來真誠寶貴的友誼，大家都捨不得你！最深刻的，就是朋友帶結他來醫院，你用僅有的氣力吹口琴，和他合奏詩歌，阿嫂哭着唱《我要唱耶和華的大慈愛》，只要一息尚存，仍要讚美感恩，這一幕不禁令我感動落淚！

在接近離別的日子，你忍受著極大的痛苦緊握我手，你在床邊的一席話，給我肯定和鼓勵，我永遠不會忘記。哥哥，你現在不需要受疾病的折磨，再沒有痛苦了，願你在天父懷裏享受永恆的安息。永遠懷念我親愛的哥哥。

The day I decided to migrate to Canada, I knew deep down that I would struggle with the grief of leaving my loving family behind. Yet, I never imagined I would be confronted with the loss of two cherished family members and friends in such a short time.

It took all the strength I had to FaceTime you while you lay bedridden. Those 12 minutes felt like a lifetime’s worth of stories condensed into a fleeting moment.

I am forever grateful for what you shared with me during that call. You told me how thankful you were that your sketch became the inspiration for my artistic journey – a life goal I now hold close to my heart. There will always be a space within me reserved for my brother. I’ll never forget how you gently reminded others to look after me, knowing I would face lonely days ahead.

I recall last year when I first realized the seriousness of your condition. I missed you profoundly and felt compelled to create an artwork that would express my memories and blessings for you. That piece remains a true reflection of my love and hopes for you.
My heart shattered when I saw your frail face, yet you radiated peace, joy, and a quiet readiness to embrace the inevitable.

In this period of mourning, I have learned to let go of unsettled emotions, past misunderstandings, and unspoken judgments. What remains are the precious memories of all the good you brought into my life:

I remember when I was in primary one, you visited me in the hospital after my surgery, so focused on sharing the treats I had received.

You took me to the cinema for a Category III film when I was a little girl, that frightened me terribly, but the memory still brings a smile.

You showed me around and meet your fiancée at Polytechnic, sharing piece of your world with me.

You stayed with Jeffrey at the musical instrument store when you found himself alone in Hong Kong.

And I will never forget the day you told me in the airport, I was the most special and unique person in the Ng family. I felt a deep warmth when you thanked me and affectionately called me “Teacher Yin Ling”.

I also remember the days when you and the others attended Ching Yee Primary School. I often felt abandoned, believing I wasn’t smart enough for better opportunities. But when I later entered MST and the design institute, our bond grew closer.

You were the star at MST- admired by many. I didn’t pay much attention to how others idolized you, but when Mr. Liu sent me photos of your achievements in sports and art, I came to realize something profound: you had always been pursuing your own dreams, living your life with intention and on your own terms.

Now, as I process this grief, I understand that life is a delicate balance of gain and loss. Every achievement comes with sacrifice. Seeing you surrounded by family, embraced by their love, I know you lived a life of true success and fulfillment.

Though we share the same family, our personalities and paths have been remarkably different. Yet, we have learned to embrace these differences, finding strength in our connection despite them. We will cherish these memories, carrying them with us as we continue our journeys.

Until we meet again in heaven-where we’ll continue conversations about dreams yet to be fulfilled.
